C's Lego monster

Remember that big bucket of Legos that C bought at a garage sale? The bucket did NOT come with any directions, but there were pictures on the side of what could be made from the enclosed Legos. Just by looking at the picture, C was able to make the monster. I think he did really good. Very proud of him for being able to translate the picture into his creation. And for having the patience to do it too. Good job, C!

My pedometer

Somewhere -- awhile ago-- I saw where you could register to get a free pedometer. So I registered. I thought it would be interesting to see how many steps I took in a day. I got it in the mail and saw why it was free. It was very cheeeeeply made; but oh well. It would do the trick. I wore it for a few days and then some of the numbers started fading out. I haven't worn it in while because of that; but that's not the point of this post.

In reading the "directions of use" I got a good chuckle at the last point.
"Breakable does not drop and wet."
HUH?

Is it mini golf or putt-putt?

What do you call it?

While I was gone (Pensacola to be with my parents after my dad's 2nd surgery), Daddy (Mr. Mom) took the kids put-putting (is that right?) The kids loved it! They kept saying "We need to bring Mommy." From what Daddy said, C did pretty OK and K, well she played.

Twisting Tumblers

K's gymnastic class this summer was called Twisting Tumblers. It was more of a very basic/intro to gymnastics. Did she learn anything? Not much. But I did discover that she is very good at it and really liked it. We may try to pursue it in the future (maybe after school gets established) I really liked the teacher, but I'm not totally sure it was worth the money I paid. I'll look elsewhere in the future. Anyways. I digress.

K learned how to properly do forward rolls, head stands, walk on the balance beam, she attempted cartwheels (not so successful). They did stretches each time along with splits. She was very good at splits. It was so fun to watch her!

Here are some pictures and video for you to enjoy.

Hello Kitty!

Tonight we had a small party for K girl. She/I picked Hello Kitty for her "what kind of party is it?" I think Kitty is so cute! And she is making a comeback from when I was younger.

Aunt T made the cake and out did herself-again. It looked like work of art!

Even though only a few people showed up, K girl still got some really nice gifts. She got a really nice puzzle and book, a porcelin tea set (declared her favorite), a "sew a kitty kit," Hello Kitty bubble blower (I'm excited about this; I hate bubbles), a Princess Tiana Barbie doll, 2 mini puzzles (that rang up at Target for $0.29 for both of them!), new ear rings, 2 new books, a pack of book marks (that girl loves her book marks), a new belt, and a new water bottle.
Funny side story (I always have a side story): A few weeks ago we checked out the movie A Little Princess with Shirley Temple. K loved that movie. She was sad when we had to turn it back in. I had the bright idea to buy it for her for her birthday. I wrapped it early this morning. This afternoon K was picking out a movie to watch and we found that I already owned that movie. Totally forgot. So there goes one of her presents. Oh well. She was happy.

The next picture is kinda disturbing, but kinda funny. Here is Hello Kitty after we ate some of her. She was yummy!
