A little excessive?

So I was re-arranging my "coopy hole" in my room the other day--again (a little corner in my room that goes out over the stairs). When I started it was the location for: scrapbook stuff, our old computer, school stuff, misc craft stuff, pictures, picture frames, idea books, stuff to be scrapbooked (is that a word?), and many dust bunnies. One of the things I did was to put like things together. I had markers, pens, pencils, cards, scrap paper, pictures, etc.--a little bit everywhere. Once I gathered up all the pencils that C uses for school, I just had to count them and take a picture. And there are about 4-6 that are down stairs that didn't get in this picture/count. Any guesses? Guess before you look below the picture.

Here's a hint: he could use a new one every other day and not use them all through out the school year!

Now I will say there are a few in there that are specifically K's, but only like 3-5. She'll use them this coming year (I have to order school for her soon! AAHH!)

113!!!! Crazy.

Beautiful!

I meant to post this while ago but forgot. I was "cleaning" up my camera and found it. The picture doesn't do it justice. The trees had ice on them so they almost shimmered. And that's white fog in the picture. I've never seen fog quite like that. It's so pretty, but I am so ready for spring! I heard birds chirping today. That's a start!

So............what's for dessert?

Yesterday I noticed just how many sweets we have in the house right now. Sad. And this isn't even all of it. There are 2 Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls that didn't make it in this picture. And there used to be 6 of the Reese's Eggs. And we have a box of Mini chocolate chip muffins--but they are for breakfast. They shouldn't count.

It's a good thing I'm not a snacker or I'd be big as a house! (I have to have my sweet after a meal, but don't really snack other times.)

And just to brag, the Oreo's were free! The Mannings beat the Trumps!

McWane Science Center

While we were in Birmingham, Daddy got to be Mr. Mom. Poor guy. Wednesday they stayed at the house so K could get a nap and C could do some school. (I did get to see them for lunch and dinner and before bedtime). Here is what C saw while doing school. Not sure how much he actually got done.
Thursday Daddy and the kids went to a children's science museum in B'ham. From the web site, it looked like a really nice one. I told Daddy to take lots of pictures since I couldn't be there. He did. He took 203! I won't bore you with all of them here. I think these are in backwards order from how/when they were actually taken. (Remember, I didn't go; it may be hard for me to describe the pictures cuz I have no idea what is going on)

These 2 pictures (K in the green car and C dressed up like a postal worker) were part of a mini-city. There was a crane, a Lego table, buildings, cars, trains, and lots of other stuff.

This is a hurricane booth. Once you step inside, you experience hurricane force winds up to 78 mph. C and K went in together first but K was scared so she had to go in with Daddy.

These pictures were some kind of computer that "froze"your picture in a 2D image, thus creating the distortion. They took a lot of pictures of these images; they are hysterical.

Here is the giant piano that you play with your feet. I think this would be tons of fun!

For some reason, K was afraid of this fish and wouldn't get in its mouth. There are other pictures of C pretending the fish was eating him. Crazy boy!
These are moon jellyfish. Since they are clear the tank is lit up with color changing LED lights. They took pictures of all the different colors. The pictures are really pretty. This was my favorite color. Did you know that jellyfish don't have brains? (You bit of information for the day)

I guess there were a few different fish tanks with different types of fish. I like this one cuz it seems like you can see right through him. There was a shark and ray touch tank there too.

Not sure about the wall behind them, but I thought it was a good picture of my 2 cute kiddies.

They took lots of pictures of cool and unusual skeletons. There was a turtle and a whale, but this was my favorite looking.

Have you ever seen these things? I don't know if they have a scientific name, but the museum calls them the "Pin Walls." They have mini versions at Wal Mart. They took a lot of pictures here; again, looks like so much fun!

C is using the force! The mindball headband measures electrical signals produced by your brain waves and causes the little ball to move. K didn't do so good.

I'm not sure which section this was in. The kids got to work on a car. C worked under it and K worked on the tires.

And here they are laying on the bed of nails.

Looks like they had so much fun! I'm glad they could go and spend the day with Daddy. (I counted it as a field trip so hopefully they--especially C--learned something)

Birmingham

For those of you praying, my dad is home and doing very well. Continue to pray--they should be getting some results back soon. Otherwise, as far as we know, the surgery was very successful.

We left 2 weeks ago and I'm just now getting to blogging. I'm just very slow!

Tuesday night we spent at some friends house relaxing, playing games, coloring, eating, and enjoying spending time together.
BTW: Just in case you were wondering, my brother is kissing K girl.
Now let me explain a few things about these enxt pictures. First of all, when Daddy took the kiddies to the Museum there was no carrousel there (like at our museum). The kids were disappointed but OK with it. When they went shopping at a local mall the next day, lo and behold there was a carrousel there. So they go to ride one, just not where/when they wanted to. That's explanation #1.
Explanation #2: can you see the bruise/cut on K's face? One night while we were sleeping (we all slept in the same room--a very dark room), she thought she lost her woobie (her blanket) so she decided to crawl around looking for it. She crawled right into the bottom slat of the one bed that was in the room. Screamed bloody murder! It got worse and now is almost better.
So now here are the carrousel pictures.
. And this last picture is of the balloons that the kids picked out for Papa. One is a monkey and one is a frog. They were really cute!
