Easter 2012

This year I appreciated Easter all the more.  It means I'll see my Kalei girl again!

Once again, I didn't want to do our 'norm' for Easter.  So we had lunch with Aunt T and Uncle J which was nice.  We hid Easter eggs there for the kids.  It was a nice different.

A few days before C was at Aunt T's house and they dyed eggs.  He thought it was cool. I, on the other hand, think dying eggs is in the same category as play dough, bubbles, and side walk chalk.  I hate them.  I would not make a good pre-school teacher.

We did get C some presents that he had to open before we left for church in the morning.  The one thing I didn't get was a portrait picture like I usually do every year.  But with my little girl not there, it was hard.

Anyways.  Here is C opening his presents.

We made the guys hide all the eggs.

AWANA Quizzing

Each year, AWANA has what they call AWANA quizzing.  It's only for the T&T group (grades 3-6) and only for those that have passed a certain number of sections.  Daddy and I were asked to help coach and practice in the weeks leading up to the quizzing.  We had some good kids on the team.  And even though most of them were nervous, they really seemed to enjoy themselves.  We had some kids that did really good too.  C actually "quizzed out" of one of the sections, which means he answered too many questions correctly and had to switch places with a new contestant.  We also had another boy answer all the written questions correctly.

C's basketball season

This year C played basketball in the city league instead of Upwards.  It was a learning experience for him.  These boys are pretty good ball players.  This is only his second year he's played basketball.  He still did a really good job!  H only scored 4 points and they were all in the same game towards the end of the season.  The entire team was happy when he finally scored.  He had a really good coach which I think makes all the difference.

Just for posterity sake:
1. Won 22-14
2. Won 21-19
3. Won 18-14
4. Lost in double overtime 20-22
5. Lost 23-25
6. Won 223-14
7. Won 29-26 (4 of those points were C's!)
8. Won the first game of the tourney 23-20

And that's all I have record of.  I do know that he played at least one more game in the tourney and they lost.
