My Rookie League Player

So C started his baseball season for this year. He has moved up to the next league--Rookie league. In this league the kids pitch for the first 3 innings and play catcher for the entire game. The coaches work with them a lot more to actually play the game instead of picking weeds or kicking in the dirt.

This year C is on the Auburn Tigers team. I miss the Yankees. I have caught myself almost yelling "let's go Yankees!"

C's first game was Friday night. Can you believe we didn't take a camera! I was able to get a few pictures with my phone but #1 they aren't very good and #2 they are still on my phone. It was our team's 1st game and the other team's 3rd game. We lost by the 10 run rule.

His 2nd game was today and they did so much better! C actually got to pitch for 1 1/3 innings. He did such a good job. Struck out 3 batters, walked a few, gave up some runs, but over all did a great job. He was so proud of himself! And he looked so grown up out there on the mound. My little boy isn't so little any more.

Last night he actually had a really play at first. He was playing pitchers helper and threw a kid out at first. Today he had two really good hits, past 2nd base into the infield and got a single each time.

I do have some video of him actually pitching but it's on my other camera (we actually had 2 cameras at this game) and I haven't had a chance to get it off there yet. I'll save that for another post. Here are a few pictures to enjoy though.

K-isms

The other day we were talking about our favorite people in the Bible. Daddy: David Me: Esther C: Caleb K: Jericho The night after K had puked 5x, she came to me in the middle of the night and said "Mommy I'm going to die to get a drink." Watching extreme couponing, the lady got 62 bottles of mustard. I said to K "what would you do with that much mustard?" Her answer "it would boil wouldn't it?" We were in the car and K reminded me to strap her, cuz "if I'm not strapped it's off the law." April 1st=April Fool's day. K was calling it "April 4th day!"

The mind of an 8 year old

Yesterday for school, C had a seatwork paper that he had to do. One of his answers cracked me up, so I thought I'd share.

Here are the directions

Picture: butterfly minus one set of wings.

Here is his answer.

Translation: The butterfly can't fly because a pair of her wings are gone.

Very good answer.

Picture: Part of a flamingo

Here is his answer.

Translation: The flamingo (is) dead because her neck is gone.

HILARIOUS!

Cracked me up!

Church program #1

The kids sang (acutally did a whole program) Sunday night in church. And yes, I videoed every single song. This post will be the first of a few. These 2 videos are just my kiddies. They were each part of a trio. It looks like they are by themselves but there are 2 others with them. (2 different songs, obviously) They did such a good job! They said they were nervious (C said he was sweating) but you'd never know to watch these. I'm so proud of them!

Left overs

Isn't she just too cute!

These are some pictures I just found of being with my family either over Christmas or my dad's funeral. I'm not sure which. But they are cute.

And I'm not sure why they won't come over rotated up the right way. Oh well. Once again, tilt your head.

Colts game

This post is so long over due. But I have an excuse. All the pictures for it were on Daddy's phone and I didn't know how to get them off of there. I have now figured it out. So now to the over-due post.

Back in September, C and Daddy and Uncle J and E got the chance to go to a pre-season Colts game. C was one excited boy. Here is how the evening started.

I took C to meet the other 3 at Daddy's work.

We got dinner to eat in the car.

C spilled Ranch all over his pants.

I took him to Meijer to buy new pants.

Back to Daddy's work we went.

They all finally left.

Thankfully there were no other major mishaps that night. Colts didn't win, but that's to be expected for a preseason game. They saw all the major names but they didn't play. But C was still excited.
