Mugsy

MugsyBold

Our friends had to put down Mugsy this past weekend. He had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and went down hill quickly. He had been their dog for over 10 years! And he was a little bit ours too. I loved "dogsitting" him. He was such a sweet dog and so good with the kids--even when they (she) wasn't so good to him. I cried; C cried; K girl said "oh" and went to play. Typical. My friend said her kids are having a tough time, so they went and bought them rabbits. Does that mean I have to "rabbit sit"? We shall see.

BTW: we didn't tell our kids that our friends had "put him down"--didn't want to have to explain that. We just said Mugsy died.

Weekend guests

This past weekend we had 2 guests stay with us, Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon. Here is the first one. What a good doggie! The second guest was one of Mugsy's "owners(?). The youngest of our friends (J&T). We will call her "Chunk-A-Monk." I swear she weighs more than my 2 combined! She looks rolly polly but is so much heavier than she looks even! But she is such a cutie! She was such a good girl, really only fussed when put down to sleep (nap and bed). She's about 13 months younger than K girl. K was somewhat jealous of her in regards to daddy. Kinda funny.

Friday night after dinner, we let the kids ride bikes out front for a little while. Saturday morning, C had a game (he lost). After the game, one of the coaches treated all the kids to ice cream at DQ. Too cute! He even got one for K! Then home for naps, grass mowing, hair cuts, showers, baths. For dinner we went out to eat. It's so different to ask for a table for 5. I'm thankful for my little family. That evening while some played Wii, the girls painted toe nails and fingernails. Monk wanted nothing to do with it. Sunday morning was a little busier getting another girl ready. She went right into nursery for Sunday School and did fine all the way through church. When I went in to get her, she had messed all the way through her pretty dress! Poor thing. Poor nursery workers. Then it was home, lunch, and naps. Daddy and Mommy came and got her about 4.

It was a fun weekend; something different. My kids didn't want her to leave. Even though she was a very good girl, I had a different opinion. I like my 2 kids. 2hands=2kids

We were going to take pictures of the kids in their Sunday best after we got home from church. The diaper issue changed that. So all we have are pictures from Friday night.

K and Mugsy

We are currently dog sitting. Mugsy is the best dog ever. If I could clone him, we would have a dog. I like to dog sit him any chance we get. We picked him up at his home Dec 30. On our way home, he puked in my car. He does that every time he gets in my car! Oh and the duct tape on my screen door? That's from him.

Anyway. On to him and K. On our way home, I mentioned to the kids that as soon as we got home we were going to eat lunch. K wanted to know who's chair Mugsy was going to sit in. Later I showed her his food/water bowl. I'm thinking that might have been a mistake. Later than that, I caught her with her hands in his water. I yelled at her and asked what she was doing. "Washing my hands, Mommy." Oh dear! You never know what is next with that girl.

Later K was trying on C's FSU helmet. For one thing, she had it on backwards, so of course couldn't see anything. Then she turned it sideways and was looking out of the ear hole. Then she took it off and wanted to know if she could put it on Mugsy. "No. It's just for people." "No, Mommy. It's just for little kids, like me." Excuse me. But I beg to differ. We have pictures to prove that it fits Daddy and Unca.

Redneck-ness

My sissy had a post by the same label not too long ago (http://www.bergerbites.blogspot.com/), so I thought I would copy her. Let me explain the picture. Yep, that is duct tape on my screen door. We occasionally dog sit a friend's dog-probably about twice a year. The dog (Mugsy) is a very good dog. He is so easy to take care of; however, when he wants to come back in after pottying, he scratches at the screen to come back in. So he put a hole in the bottom of the screen. The hole by the handle is from our fingers when we went to open or shut the door. We had the door open the other day, but I didn't want the lady bugs to come in through the holes (there were A LOT of lady bugs). So I covered the holes with duct tape. Eventually we will fix the holes-probably next spring. But for now, the tape does the trick.
