Easter 2010

Easter was beautiful this year! It wasn't "frost bite cold" but just a little chilly.

We got C a Galatic Hereos set that he had been wanting for a very long time. K girl got a "polly-pocket-type" Princess with little plastic (seriously) clothes to change.
After they opened presents and changed, they had a egg hunt downstairs (too muddy to do it outside). Looks like the "easter bunny" laid an egg in Daddy's new chair!

Here is their "egg stash" It was a good day!

Misc.

Here are a few Misc. pictures from Easter weekend. K was pretending to sleep, but I thought it was such a cute picture. Friends-at least for now.
Everyone got new sunglasses except me; so I took the picture.
These are the new sunglasses that I got for Daddy for our anniversary. Doesn't he look smooth?

Easter presents

We usually get Easter presents for the kids every year. I spent a little more than normal this year, but I had in mind specifically what I wanted to get them. Each one got a new beach towel, a new book and a toy. C got a new Lego set which he put together with very little help from Daddy. And K got a puppy (Cocoa) to go with her over-sized Polly Pocket. Cocoa even comes with a dress and a hat (seriously?)!

Easter Egg Hunt

We have never done an Easter egg hunt with the kids. For some reason, this year I wanted to do one. Daddy and I filled the eggs one night last week: candy (Reese's Eggs), mints, money, and a cheap toy. We actually did the hunt Saturday afternoon; it was just easier due to church the next day. I went out to the backyard and hid the eggs while the kids ate lunch. Boy they ate fast! It was a little chilly, but they had fun running around looking for the eggs. K was to find the purple and pink eggs and C was to find the blue and yellow ones. After all 22 were found, we came back inside and they looked in each one. The cheap toy that C got was a small (very cheap) Connect Four. He loves that game! He has asked to play a zillion times since! Daddy wants me to just go get the real game. I think they had fun. I know I did. Hopefully we can keep up the tradition next year.

Easter Sunday

We had a very cold but beautiful Easter Sunday this year. I was so excited to get my kids dressed for church. I thought they looked so nice (smooth as C says). I found C's shirt on sale quite a few weeks ago and we found the tie last week when we went shopping. I actually can't remember where we got K's dress (sad, isn't it?) but we got the sweater last week when we went shopping. I really wanted her to have a little white sweater (she needed it) but didn't want to pay a lot of money. Daddy found it at Sears for $10. Good job, Daddy! What a bargain hunter. Daddy just had a new shirt; we couldn't find a new tie to match, so he wore one he already had. And here is the debut of my hot pink Easter ensemble. I love the hot pink! My entire outfit (except for what you can't see) was new. I even had on a new necklace. I felt pretty (is it bad to say that?) I think we all looked very nice.

Spring!

So here is a picture to prove that spring is so NOT here! This was just last week. This is NOT why I moved to Indiana. It has been cold and rainy ever since. I am convinced that we will never see spring this year. And yes, that is snow.

Easter Candy

OK. This is all Daddy's fault. One night he brought home some of this candy. Now I'm hooked. Every time I go to Wal-Mart I buy a 6 pack. I'm not sure if anyone else gets any, but they sure are good. If you like chocolate and peanut butter together, these are AWESOME! I'm sure they will help me lose weight, so I will keep eating them.

Yeah for shopping!

For those that know me well, you know I am not the world's best shopper. Meaning, it's not something I love to do. I enjoy it occastionally, especially when we have tax return money to spend. So all that to say, Saturday we spent the entire day shopping. We had a few things on our list that were needs (C's new socks) and a few wants (me a new Easter outfit). I also wanted to find the kiddies Easter outfits, but that didn't happen. I'm still looking. We came home with other stuff too, but got a lot of good deals.

Here is a list of what I can remember that we bought: K a new dress; C jeans, socks, cleats for baseball, 4 long sleeved T's; Daddy 2 new dress shirts, jeans, pants, socks, new Crocs (I think he's a little addicted), racketball glasses; Me a whole new outfit! skirt, 2 piece top, shoes ($70 shoes for $7), Bath and Body. We had a lot of bags when we got home! Poor K girl only got one thing, which is really unusual. Usually, she has the most stuff (girls are so much fun to buy for). I think all in all, we all made out really good. We also went out to eat and got the car washed. You'll have to wait til my Easter post to see my outfit. One hint: it's hot pink!

*Now I hope I can find Easter stuff for the kiddies. I also would like to get Daddy a new suit. Since he lost all his weight, his old one doesn't fit*
