Church program #1

The kids sang (acutally did a whole program) Sunday night in church. And yes, I videoed every single song. This post will be the first of a few. These 2 videos are just my kiddies. They were each part of a trio. It looks like they are by themselves but there are 2 others with them. (2 different songs, obviously) They did such a good job! They said they were nervious (C said he was sweating) but you'd never know to watch these. I'm so proud of them!

Bus Conference

Monday and Tuesday night of this week our church hosted our 3rd annual bus and soul winning conference. It's amazing to see how it has grown in these 3 years! I haven't heard a final count, but according to "pre-reg" numbers we were supposed to have over 500 people attend! We went Monday night and I know the main floor of church was very full! We had people from IN, OH, KY, SC, and a few other states attend. One guy drove over 500 miles from PA!

The conference starts Monday night, there are sessions all day Tuesday, and a church meeting Tuesday night. This year, C's kids choir opened the entire conference singing 2 songs. They did such a good job! It's so cute to see all of them up there. He is in the group that is 4 year olds to 2nd graders. A big age range to work with, but once again our church secretary does an amazing job!

Here is just one picture from their singing. Our camera battery was blinking red. Oops.

After church, we always host a 3 on 3 basketball tourney. This year Daddy refed (umped?) and I kept score. It was a lot of fun! But a really late night. We didn't get home until midnight. The kids were in bed VERY FAST. Meanwhile Daddy was back at the gym looking for C's hat and coat which he had left in the bathroom when he was changing. Thankfully we found it. I really can't talk cuz for a few minutes I lost my keys. Found them too. What a night! Since Monday night was so late, we didn't go Tuesday night. What a week! My calendar just keeps getting fuller and fuller (more full and more full?) On that note, I think I'll end this post.

C's Church Program

C had a church program Sunday night. He is part of the "Cherubs Choir." They have practiced every Sunday night and then had a final practice Saturday morning. There are about 25 kids in this choir. The director (our church secretary) did a really good job preparing them for this program. They sang about 4 songs and some of the kids had little speaking parts. One of the songs they sang was Stop and Let Me Tell You. Three of the kids had instruments to play immediately after the word STOP. There was a triangle, something C kept calling a "cheese thing" (I'm not sure what that was), and C got to play the cymbals. The first time they were pretty close together. The last time C was so distracted that he was way behind on timing. But it was so cute!

This was one of the times they all played their instruments. You can't see C's cymbals becasue of the music stand in the front row. Oh well. I love their faces!

One little boy was supposed to say a verse and he flipped out. He was crying hysterically while at the same time saying his part. He cried through the rest of the program. It was kinda funny.

Daddy taped it. Now we just need to figure out how to get it on here. We will see.

Bugs and Bowling

On Wednesday nights at church, C has a class for his age group. It's a class for the summer and it's led by our church secretary. She does such a good job. They are covering the days of creation and are currently on the day that bugs were created (I'm not sure which day that would be). She let some of the kids borrow a bug catcher last week. They were to catch a bug and bring it in this past Wed to class so they could look at these bugs with a magnifying glass. So Tues night, Daddy and C were out back looking for a grasshopper or something. Daddy was out by the pond with a little net and the container and C had tweezers (not sure about those) They looked for at least 45 min. Nothing. The one time we wanted bugs, none were to be found. Of course, C was disappointed. So my solution? On the "way" to church we stopped at the pet store and bought him a cricket for 10 cents. He was so proud of that cricket. You would have thought he actually caught it. The teacher was impressed that we had thought to go buy a bug. I was pretty proud of myself too. Next is an ant farm. I hope we don't have to "babysit" them for the week any time soon. After church we went out for pizza with friends from church so we didn't get home til late. But yummy! Monicals pizza ROCKS!

Thursday I took the kids bowling. If you log onto http://www.kidsbowlfree.com/ you can get 2 free games per kid per weekday for free. It's a nation wide thing, but only certain alleys participate. And some you have to pay for the shoes, but that's usually pretty inexpensive. So we went bowling today. The kids love it. Two friends from church showed up, so there were 4 kids on our lane. K used this ball ramp thingy. All you do is set the ball on top and she pushes it off onto the lane. Pretty cool. We had fun. C scored a 63 and was in 2nd place--as he likes to say. K actually was in 3rd. Then tonight we went out to eat after I had an eye appointment (Daddy was home early!! Yeah!!) and did some shopping for our 4th of July party tomorrow night.

On a side note: refer to the previous post regarding K being naked. Today I put her down for a nap and 45 min later she was still awake. When I walked by her room, I heard her saying "Mommy, cold" so I poked my head in her room. You guessed it. Naked. And this time she had peed and was sitting in it. So I'm sure she was cold. So I changed her bed, dressed her and gave her a stern talking to "You leave your clothes alone and go to sleep!" All I can do is shake my head.

Tomorrow and Saturday will be busy, so I will check back in the beginning of next week. Happy July 4th!
