Colts game

This post is so long over due. But I have an excuse. All the pictures for it were on Daddy's phone and I didn't know how to get them off of there. I have now figured it out. So now to the over-due post.

Back in September, C and Daddy and Uncle J and E got the chance to go to a pre-season Colts game. C was one excited boy. Here is how the evening started.

I took C to meet the other 3 at Daddy's work.

We got dinner to eat in the car.

C spilled Ranch all over his pants.

I took him to Meijer to buy new pants.

Back to Daddy's work we went.

They all finally left.

Thankfully there were no other major mishaps that night. Colts didn't win, but that's to be expected for a preseason game. They saw all the major names but they didn't play. But C was still excited.

C's new room

C's room is finally done! I painted it an amazing color--white! He wanted so much on his walls that it had to be a neutral color. It was fairly easy to paint because everything got painted the same--doors, trim, baseboards, walls. There are just a few little details that need to be taken care of (we want to put the Derek Jeter trading card in a frame; he needs an updated pix of K beside his bed) and Daddy is going to build him a shelf for his baseball collection--once it's warmer in the garage.

So here are the pictures to prove it is done.
Here his is new dresser and the TV that we hung for him to do school. Behind the TV on the wall are 4 pennants: Colts, Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, Yankees, and Florida State.

Here is the wall of pennants and his school desk is right to the left of the lamp.

Behind his door we hung a bulletin board. I'll use it if I need to hang things for him for school. On the bulletin board, I stuck 5 of the trading pins that we brought back from Disney world. I'm also going to hang some of the AWANA ribbons that he has too.

This is the wall above his bed. Most of the pictures are signed by at least one Colts player. There are 2 signatures on the poster.

Here is my favorite wall. We bought a Fathead--so worth the money! There's no way I could've painted all that and made it look that good. LOVE IT!

All together, I think we only spent $200. That was for the Fathead ($100), paint, supplies, frames, and pennants. The TV and dresser don't count. He needed both and we had planned to buy both with this year's tax return anyway. Not bad.
My SIL is coming to visit in April. She commented that our house is going to look like a different house by the time she gets here. That would be the point. I'm not enjoying the painting, but I am enjoying the results. Check back soon for the living room reveal.

C's birthday party

I know I'm a little behind in blogging but timing, well isn't everything.

This year C wanted a Indianapolis Colts themed birthday party (our pro football team for those who don't know). When looking for a date to have the party, Daddy saw that there was a Colt game on TV on December 17th. So we decided to have the party that night and then invite everyone to stay and watch the game.

Daddy actually made the invites and they turned out AWESOME!

Aunt T made the "cakes" (a whole bunch of cupcakes) and they looked and tasted wonderful--as usual.

We had some great snacks: chips and dip and meatball subs (besides cake and ice cream of course).

Quite a few people showed up (10 I think?) and a few stayed to watch the game.

C got some really good presents: a Brain Quest game, Phase 10 twist, Guess Who (the kids LOVE this game), some new Star Wars guys, a Wii Star Wars game, a Hess truck, a huge Superman comic book and some new slippers. But not just ordinary slippers. They are Crocs and they are Colts slippers. I found them for a VERY good deal on crocs.com.

Oh and by the way, the Colts beat the Jaguars.

Colts Bleed Blue Blood Drive

Say that fast 5 times!

Tuesday of lasr week, Daddy and C were able to go to Lucas Oil Stadium were the Colts play football. It was a blood drive sponsored by the Indianapolis Bllod Centers and supported by the Colts. If you (the adult) gave blood, you were able to meet/get autographs from some players, get a tour, and run around on the field. C was excited for days. He had a million questions: "Who will be there?" "Where will they sit?" "Will they have signs to tell what position they play?" "Will we get to kick field goals?" And on and on. He is my planner. Wants to know in advance what's happening.

Daddy got off work early that day and they left not long after noon. And it sounds like they had fun!

They met 3 or 4 players and 2 cheerleaders (C got their autograph for K). They got a tour of the locker room and the showers. They got to run around on the field and practice field goals (Daddy says it's harder than it looks).

Indianapolis Indians game

The Indianapolis Indians are a AAA baseball team. Every year our church gets free tickets to go see a game. It's nice to go to this game, cuz most people in our section are from our church. K and I didn't go last year because it was so HOT. This year, it was beautiful! We actually took jackets for the kids. Another bonus, Monday nights are $1 menu nights. So we ate dinner at the ball park.

We had a really nice time. The kids were good (extra nice since Monday was HORRIBLE w/ K girl-HORRIBLE), the weather was beautiful, the Indians won, and we got to just sit and talk with church people.

We took Stanley with us (I remembered poor Stanley). So here are some pictures of our night.

As we were walking to the stadium, we saw the outside of the massive Lucas Oil Stadium where the Colts play.I know it's hard to see, but the Indians won 5 to 1.
