Merry Christmas!

Please begin reading this post at the bottom and scroll up. :)
When we were growing up, I remember taking a picture w/ eveyrthing that we got that year for Christmas so we could remember what we got. So here is C's picture for this year.
And here is K's picture.

C's "last to open " present--what he really wanted. Lego Indiana Jones for the Wii.

K's new dollhouse. And boy does she like it.

K's tutu. Isn't she cute?

Not sure what this was but I like how Daddy took the picture.

My mom got K a purple purse filled with goodies. I think it was one of her favorite presents. It had tissues, a purple comb, a nail file, a little toy doggie, and a key. She thought she was hot stuff!

This is C taking a picture of---something.

K got this for Daddy at the Cubbies store. It's a screwdriver on both ends. Very small and magnetic. Daddy used it at least twice already today!

C got me some nice new socks and very soft blue gloves. They are so soft!

We bought these for C at the Lego store in Disney. He also got a set from Grandma that are Indy Jones.

K wanted a Barbie doll. And this is Belle! What I like is that it is made more for her age. The shoes don't come off and neither do the clothes. The tutu does. No little parts for her to loose.

K was very love-y today. I'll take it when I can. She's usually not like that.

Daddy and I both got each other this game. Scrabble Slam. He and I actually played it tonight after the kids went to bed. It's really fun. He's really good at it.

Look at all those presents! Since we didn't go anywhere, all presents from everyone got sent to us. We had a lot. It took us quite awhile to open them all.

Here's Mugsy. He wanted to be in on all the fun, but he kept getting in the way. Poor guy. After we ate dinner tonight, he kept begging for turkey scraps. He got one little one. His Christmas present.

Merry Christmas to all! I hope everyone had a wonderful day. We are spending this Christmas here at home as our family of 4. Our only house guests are one dog (Mugsy) and 2 turtles (never heard of turtle sitting?)
PS: Blogger rearranged all my pictures and words. And it's too late for me to care.

Star Wars in Concert

I'm sure by now everyone knows that my son loves anything Star Wars. For his birthday this year, we bought tickets for him and Daddy to go to Star Wars in Concert.

What exactly is Star Wars in Concert? I'll let the official website explain:

"Star Wars in Concert is a unique event that combines John Williams' unforgettable music, performed by a live symphony orchestra and chorus, with specially edited footage from all six Star Wars films. Through each musical piece, audiences will experience the key themes, characters ands story elements of the epic Star Wars saga from a new perspective. Taking a remarkable excursion into the heart of a galaxy far, far away."

Before the actual concert, they were able to see different props and costumes from various movies:

"Nestled deep in the confines of the George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch, the Lucasfilm Archives is a magical place. Its contents include models, storyboards, illustrations, costumes and props from all six Star Wars films. Over the years a number of these other worldly items have been exhibited around the globe, but not everything has seen the light of day. Many items have been stored for as long as 30 years, unseen since they were last in front of a camera--until now."

There were also many people there dressed up in "character." They were able to get many cool pictures and see a lot of neat stuff.

They both agreed that the concert itself was AWESOME! (Funny side note: after the 1st song, everyone clapped. C said "Is that all?")

It was a long/late evening (they left around 4 and didn't get home till after 10). They came home with an awesome program. But according to both, it was well worth it.

Here are some of their picutres. (PS: check back for info on what K and I did that night)

Colts Bleed Blue Blood Drive

Say that fast 5 times!

Tuesday of lasr week, Daddy and C were able to go to Lucas Oil Stadium were the Colts play football. It was a blood drive sponsored by the Indianapolis Bllod Centers and supported by the Colts. If you (the adult) gave blood, you were able to meet/get autographs from some players, get a tour, and run around on the field. C was excited for days. He had a million questions: "Who will be there?" "Where will they sit?" "Will they have signs to tell what position they play?" "Will we get to kick field goals?" And on and on. He is my planner. Wants to know in advance what's happening.

Daddy got off work early that day and they left not long after noon. And it sounds like they had fun!

They met 3 or 4 players and 2 cheerleaders (C got their autograph for K). They got a tour of the locker room and the showers. They got to run around on the field and practice field goals (Daddy says it's harder than it looks).

Happy Birthday, C!

Today my little boy turned 7! It's so hard to believe that I have a 7 year old!

Just like last year, we let him pick what he wanted for all his meals. Boy is he a home-body! He wanted doughnuts (like last year) for breakfast. We all went in our jammies to get them. For lunch, we stayed here and ate together. For dinner we ordered out pizza because he didn't want to go anywhere. Easy enough.

A few years ago, C had a light saber that was taken away from him because he had hit something one too many times. At that time he was told that he would be allowed to have one when he was 7. I thought that the one he got at Disney would be sufficient. I was mistaken. He also wanted a spring activated one that he could play with (since the other is so big). Last night we did a little shopping and he was allowed to spend some birthday money to buy one. Well the one last night need returned today cuz it didn't work. So he and Daddy did that and got C's glassed re-adjusted (and a few other errands).

One of the errands was to get a cake or cookie for C for today (his party is next week). He wanted a cookie but they couldn't find a birthday one. So we ate Santa instead. Isn't he cute?

C got many well wishes on facebook, by phone call, and on blogs. He also opened a few presents today. K got him more Star Wars guys, Grandma and Papa got him 2 world maps (he loves looking at maps), my sister got him a few things to use tomorrow night. The present we got him --you'll have to check back to see where he and Daddy are going tomorrow night.

He had a good day and so did we all. Both kids were good. We played Wii, watched Monsters vs Aliens (not a fan), and a Muppet's Christmas.

Christmas lights at the zoo

Each year our zoo decorates with thousands of Christmas lights. We took the kids last night to walk around and see all the lights. They were expecting to see some animals too. I think we saw 3 animals and some fish. There were a lot of lights but I'm not sure if there was $32 worth of lights. It was pretty, but would I go again? Probably not.

But for your "en-view-ment" here are some pictures (with our new camera-which I love).
Each time we go to the zoo, we "measure" the kids against the hands. From September (the last time we went) both of the kids have grown 1/2 hand taller.
The kids (especially C) were fascinated to see the pictures that I took of my breath. Not that I meant to......................These were real reindeer. And yes, that is as close as we could get. Disappointing.

I thought this tree was beautiful! Wouldn't it be so nice to get a family Christmas picture in front of?

Here are the kids on the way home. I think these pictures actually turned out cute.
