Kids day camp = mom's fun week

My kids went to day camp at Uncle J and aunt T's church a few weeks ago. It was 8-5 Monday thru Friday. They had such a blast. I'm hoping to get some pictures so I can post about what they did. Still working on the pictures.

But for me, I had my own plans.

Monday: my one goal for the entire week was to get the pantry all cleaned out. If I got nothing else but that done, I would be happy. I am please to report that I did get my pantry done and more besides. I got the fridge, the oven, the lazy susan, all but one cupboard, and only one drawer--all cleaned out. Very pleased. Here is the midst of the storm.

Tuesday: I had Dei Gratia in the morning and then went home and got more cleaning done.

Wednesday: After I dropped the kids off in the morning, I started shopping. I went to Menards, the mall, Kohls, Target, Kroger, and CVS. Plus I went to lunch with Daddy.

Thursday: I spent the day with Aunt T. We were supposed to be scrapbooking. We didn't get started with that until way late in the afternoon. So we didn't get much done. But we did have a very yummy lunch. Sushi from a new place right around the corner from them.

Friday: I spent the day at home again getting regular cleaning and laundry done.

I know the kids had a fun but tiring week. I could say the same for me.

(to add to all the business, C kept winning his tourney games and so had unexpected games and practices through out the week. But that's all another post)

Spring Cleaning

Saturday morning my children did not wake up until 9 am! For those of you who know my kiddies, that is AMAZING! Especially C. Now K girl is more apt to sleep later, but not that late. Them sleeping late meant we got to sleep late too! Yeah! I haven't done that in a long time. I think we wore them out at the Children's Museum (see other post).

Sleeping late was a wonderful way to start our Saturday. We really didn't have many plans for the day--just cutting the boy's hair (YUCK). Daddy made us pancakes (chocolate chip for me) and the boys played PlayStation and Wii. K girl was playing here, there, and everywhere. I decided to start cleaning house, since I didn't have the chance on Friday (my usual cleaning day). I started in our bathroom and it turned into spring cleaning. I cleaned just about everything in there! Baseboards, cabinets, light fixtures, nitty-gritty stuff. I have 2 more things to do (the shower curtain and the spray head in the shower). As I kept going, the "spring cleaning bug" bit me. So I kept going. I dusted our bookshelves (no small feat), our ceiling fan, and some air return vents.

Then I made sure the bug bit Daddy. He went through all his clothes and got rid of his "fat" clothes. He got rid of two 30 gallon bags of clothes! Between him and the clothes that the kids have outgrown, I have a HUGE pile of clothes! I am going to try to sell some of the name brand stuff on eBay. I have a friend that does it all the time and makes good money. So we shall see. I'll keep you posted.

Between all this cleaning, I cut the boys hair and fed my kiddies. Daddy then grilled out hamburgers for dinner. YUM! What started out as a slow day--and what we had planned as a slow day--turned into a very productive day. It felt so good to get some stuff done! Now to finish what I've started.
