Pensacola!

The day after Daddy's Warrior Dash we drove to Pensacola.  (I hate that drive; it is forever long)  We had such a great time while we were there.  We got to do so many things.  I'll see what I can remember.

Most importantly, we got to see this little guy. My brother's little one.  Isn't he so serious?  And cute!

We also got to see my nieces a few times.  They are both down there at college.

I wish we had one of these closer! We made sure to bring some home with us.

One of the things I miss about P'cola: fresh seafood.  Specifically shrimp.  Yum!

We spent a little time at the Naval Aviation Museum.
Not near as long as C would have liked......

We got to see the Blue Angels practice!  It's been years since I have seen them.  It was amazing!

He does smile!

Look at the rolls on him!  The baby; not my brother.

The Indiana flag at Lamberts: home of the throwed rolls.

Beautiful sunset at the beach after a gorgeous afternoon.

A little soccer on the beach

Got to walk around one of the forts.  C would have spend more time there, too!

A locally owned coffee shop that we visited 3 times in the week that we were there!

Got to see a friend from year's past.  He was actually Daddy's roommate during college.

Look at those rolls!

The neatest mini golf place EVER. Many memories from  years ago.

Isn't that beautiful!

This is where Daddy and I used to meet for every church service while we were dating during college.

Warrior Dash

The beginning of September, Daddy and a friend from work did the Warrior Dash.  It's something Daddy has wanted to do.  It's a mud run, obstacle course, 5K.  There were some crazy obstacles for this run.  Even though it was a chilly, wet morning, the race went well.  I think they would like to do it again next year. (There was quite the issue with getting to the race: the other guys car wouldn't start)

You know it's serious when there is a life guard and a sign that reads "Beware: real barbed wire."

Soccer

C has decided to only play one sport now: soccer.  Because of this, we put him in an actual soccer club and he tried out for a travel soccer team in June.  This will give him the opportunity to play soccer year round and it will help him improve his skills. This is the big leagues.

(Since I am way behind on blogging) we are currently between fall and winter seasons.  Through the fall season we had 4 tourneys: one that our club hosted, one about an hour way, one about 3 hours north, and one about 3 hours south.  That was on top of all the regular season games that he had.  He has a great team and a great coach.  The coach is young and quiet but I like him.  There were 14 boys on his team and then a few games into the season there was another boy that joined.  We have gotten to know a most of the parents by name and a few we sit with for every game.  We have really enjoyed travel soccer; we know so little about how it works, but we are learning.  (There have been some issues with the manager--looooong story-- but those should be resolved within the next few weeks)  I will tell you: this has kept us crazy busy!  Practices at least 2 nights a week, games on Saturdays, tourneys (2 of them were "stay the night")  But is has been so much fun!  It's been fun to see how the boys have improved since the beginning too.

Ice Bucket Challenge

Have you seen the Ice Bucket Challenge?  How could you not?  I think is so cool because it is for support of ALS.  Our friend's hubby died from ALS earlier this year.  What a worthy cause.  C & Daddy did the challenge.

I can't tell if these videos loaded properly or not.  Sigh.  Blogger.....

6th grade

Wha?!?!?  Really?

This is how I spent many hours this summer.  School is so different this year.
