Soccer

C has decided to only play one sport now: soccer.  Because of this, we put him in an actual soccer club and he tried out for a travel soccer team in June.  This will give him the opportunity to play soccer year round and it will help him improve his skills. This is the big leagues.

(Since I am way behind on blogging) we are currently between fall and winter seasons.  Through the fall season we had 4 tourneys: one that our club hosted, one about an hour way, one about 3 hours north, and one about 3 hours south.  That was on top of all the regular season games that he had.  He has a great team and a great coach.  The coach is young and quiet but I like him.  There were 14 boys on his team and then a few games into the season there was another boy that joined.  We have gotten to know a most of the parents by name and a few we sit with for every game.  We have really enjoyed travel soccer; we know so little about how it works, but we are learning.  (There have been some issues with the manager--looooong story-- but those should be resolved within the next few weeks)  I will tell you: this has kept us crazy busy!  Practices at least 2 nights a week, games on Saturdays, tourneys (2 of them were "stay the night")  But is has been so much fun!  It's been fun to see how the boys have improved since the beginning too.

Ice Bucket Challenge

Have you seen the Ice Bucket Challenge?  How could you not?  I think is so cool because it is for support of ALS.  Our friend's hubby died from ALS earlier this year.  What a worthy cause.  C & Daddy did the challenge.

I can't tell if these videos loaded properly or not.  Sigh.  Blogger.....

Our summer

A typical summer would be time spent at the pool, working in my garden, basking in the sun.

Not so much this summer.  July 3 it was 59 degrees.  July 28 we were still wearing light coats.  And wearing warm pjs on Labor Day.  But C&I did manage to get one day at the aquatic center.  And I did get some stuff from my garden.  Not as much as usual; and not as much as I would've liked.  So then the week before we went to P'cola, it got HOT.  Like 90's hot.  For a few days.  Once we got back from P'cola, the temp dropped again.  Crazy weather.  I'm not quite sure what that means for winter.
