Indiana State Fair

2012 Indiana State Fair

August 17, 2012

I have a few nieces that would have been jealous.

Cracked me up.

And my dog stands up only about 43.5 minutes a day.

One of the 5 cars he wants when he grows up.

Good lookin' dude!

Children's Museum

For the past few years, I had bought a Children's Museum membership.  This is the first year I din't buy one. For a few reasons: when I would take both kids it made the cost of a membership worth it.  With it just C and I, it was almost cheaper to just buy tickets.  But then I found out that the kids "Indiana grandparents" had bought a grandparent membership and included C as a grandkid and had added "2 guests" Which meant that both C and I could get in free if one of the member holders got us in!  Awesome!

One day this summer, my friend F (a card member) asked if C and I wanted to go with her and her siblings (she has much younger siblings).  So off we went.  Her brothers are C's age (there is another C too) and her sister is a little older.  But they are super sweet kids.

Here are some pictures to show our day in pictures:

It's been FOREVER!

I can't even remember everything that has happened since I last blogged!  So I'm going to just jump right in.  Hopefully I'll be able to remember some things and go back and blog about them at a future date.  For today I will blog about our trip to Chicago.

For Kalei's "heaven-vesary" we did not want to stay in town for that weekend.  So we decided to go to Chicago for a long weekend.  It was an OK trip.  The "resort" we stayed in would only have gotten about 2 stars(out of 5) from me if I was rating it.  Oh well.  You live and learn.

We did eat some yummy food.  We got to see Michael Jordan--his statue anyway.  We saw some not so nice parts of Chicago.  We paid A LOT in tolls.  We went to LegoLand.  And we spent some nice time together.  Oh and I did not get a lot of sleep.

C got back from junior camp Friday afternoon.  We left for Chicago Saturday morning.  I think he was coming down off of a major "sugar/too much food coloring" high.  Plus suffering from a lack of sleep.  Thus, I did not get a lot of sleep.  Why you ask? He had nightmares every night while we were in Chicago.  We all slept in the same room.  These were not just little moans in the night.  They were off & on for 2 hours, crying out.  SO.  TIRED.

On to the pictures.  They are in no particular order.  Sorry.  Hey! At least there are pictures.

There was also a statue of 2 famous Blackhawk players.  Who? you ask.  No idea.

He was so excited.  He wore all his MJ gear for the occasion.

Just about everything was made out of Legos.  This is LeLa (LegoLand).  Isn't she cute?

C kept calling him something else; and for the life of me I cannot remember what!

There was an entire section that was the city of Chicago made out of Legos.

Navy Pier. (which we did not go to; I wish we would have)

Even a crime scene.  Cracked me up!

Then the jungle area.

C said this was one of his favorite things at LegoLand.

I think R2D2 is so cute!

Too funny!

Indiana Jones

Batman

Obama (C didn't want his picture taken with him)

Can you find C?

In this section, you built a building................

..................and put it on the earthquake table to see if it would last.

C got to build a fish in a master builder class.  This is his Kalei pose.

The mini golf course at the resort.

Darth Vader was outside LegoLand.

Awesome burgers!

Awesome pizza!

My sweet friend S delivered homemade cinnamon rolls for us to bake before we left for Chicago.
We took the rest with us.  YUM!

On our way out of town, we stopped to see Kalei and released 6 balloons.  I miss that girl.

Somewhere in Indiana, there is a wind farm.  There were hundreds of these for miles!

A place to get good hot dogs.
And the decor was, um, interesting.

Our resort.
